“My experience as a Gallipoli scholar has been nothing short of incredible. The organisation has provided me with invaluable support, financial security, experiences, and opportunities to excel both personally and academically. As a first-year student studying a highly intense Bachelor of Physiotherapy course at the Australian Catholic University, the Gallipoli Scholarship Fund has provided me with a deep sense of purpose in life extending past my education. Their belief in my potential has been highly uplifting, allowing me to focus on my education, continue my elite athlete ambitions, and stay dedicated to community service. I have obtained the King Scout Award, Gold Duke of Edinburgh, and Lifesaving Gold Medallion, all recognising my hard work and commitment in various domains of my life.
The Fund has illuminated resources and support I am able to access to assist me in achieving my long-term goals. I feel so privileged to honour the enduring traditions of perseverance, courage, self-sacrifice, and mateship. Meeting fellow like-minded scholars with similar interests and the incredible benefactors during the awards, visiting significant landmarks including the Australian War Memorial and Government House, and hearing the stories that shaped individuals was truly awe-inspiring. The entire process made me feel more connected than ever to my family’s service heritage, making the journey so special and sentimental.
Immediately upon my return to Victoria, I made a significant decision — but one that aligns with my core values. I enlisted to join the Australian Defence Force. I am now more determined than ever to achieve high-level results, contribute to defence, and become the greatest and most qualified physiotherapist I possibly can.
I feel deeply privileged and proud to be a Gallipoli Scholar, and I would like to extend my thanks to Earlwood-Bardwell Park RSL. I will be forever grateful for your generosity and appreciate your investment in my future. I’m passionate about uplifting and helping others, which aligns with my career. So to future scholars, let this ignite your dreams.”
