Australian War Memorial, Canberra – 28th September 2022
On Wednesday the 28th of September, seven of the Gallipoli Scholars visited the Australian War Memorial where they were given the opportunity to view and handle several documents while they were taught about historical records and how these materials were recorded.
The Scholars then had a guided tour of the Memorial, followed by a special tour by the Australian War Memorials Indigenous Liaison Officer which focused on the Indigenous history.
Following the tour, the Scholars then made their way to the Commemorative Area where they attended the Last Post Ceremony to pay respect to all soldiers and lay wreaths.
Government House, Canberra – 29th September 2022
On Thursday the Scholars visited the Government House where they were greeted by our Patrons His Excellency General, The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) & Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley. Our Patrons led the Scholars into the State Room where all important dignitaries are usually received and engaged in conversations about their future.
