Jan is a retired Army officer, having served 22 years in both the Australian Regular Army and the Army Reserve. Post her service she worked with veterans as an advocate for NSW RSL, and also served for 15 years as a member of the Veterans’ Review Board. Jan joined the Gallipoli Scholarship Fund Management Committee as a volunteer in April 2010 and served as the Chair of the Selection Panel until her retirement in May 2024. During this time, she has mentored over 40 young men and women and will continue to mentor Gallipoli Scholars in her new role as a Goodwill Ambassador.
Jenny is an educator and is now retired from Secondary School teaching in NSW where she was a Deputy Principal. Throughout her career, Jenny has had a focus on student well-being, educational excellence and educational administration. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education (Macquarie University), a Master of Education (Western Sydney University) and holds a Certificate in TEASOL (Teaching English to Adult Speakers of Other Languages). Following her retirement, Jenny was a teacher mentor in several High Schools.
A big part of Jenny’s life revolves around community service and volunteering. She supports numerous Rotary projects and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship (PHF) in recognition of her services. She is a regular volunteer at Mt Annan Botanic Garden and supports a local school for children with special needs. In 2024 Jenny received the Local Woman of the Year Award for the Macquarie Fields Electorate in recognition of her service to the community and schools.
Jenny has served as the Independent Education Advisor on the Selection Committee for the GSF for a number of years. In 2024 she has become a Mentor for one of the Gallipoli Scholars and is a Goodwill Ambassador.
Following a long career in public affairs, Garrie Gibson was the CEO of the RSL & Services Clubs Association (NSW) for seven and a half years, retiring in November 2021.
In that role, Garrie was a member of the Management Committee of the Gallipoli Scholarship Fund and was Deputy Chair for four years.
Garrie was also the Founding Secretary of the Veterans Benevolent Fund and was active in veterans’ issues for his whole term as CEO of the RSL & Services Clubs Association.
Garrie is Secretary of a Cancer charity, the Shae Gibson Women’s Cancer Support Fund, works as a Volunteer at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, is President of the Fisher Federal Electorate Committee of the ALP and was recently appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Gallipoli Scholarship Fund. Garrie is also a Mentor for two current GSF scholars.
